The Beaumont Hotel is an institution in a disused carpark. This quirky abode can be found on a quiet garden square moments from Selfridges and a few minutes’ walk to Hyde Park, Grosvenor Square and Bond Street. The ambience of the gardens are one of peace. Perhaps this is because according to the British History website the law states it is forbidden to quarrel in these gardens. So if you’re feeling a bit irritable check to see there’s no bobby lurking with a ticket book

Food at The Beaumont Hotel: A diverse menu which accommodates for the most indulgent diner

The1920s style Colony Grill Room at The Beaumont is where guests have breakfast, lunch and dinner, but is actually a popular location for Mayfair’s well-heeled to dine at all hours of the day.

One of the many highlights of dining there is the diverse menu which accommodates for the most indulgent diner.

The hotel’s manager is vegan, so the menu is packed with vegan delights that change with the season.

For breakfast, the menu is huge and includes ginger shots, healthy bowls, and of course, porridge.

The staff greet hotel guests by name. It’s not long before you feel like family.

Rooms at The Beaumont Hotel: Brilliantly lit bathrooms

There are 73 rooms and suites, and each has grey carpet, generous, plush beds, polished wood furniture and room to settle right in with generous cupboard space.

There are two hall marks of fabulous, but practical five star hotels for women. One is the hairdryer, the other are mirrors. (So many hotels scrimp on both). The Beaumont comes up trumps with a Bayliss hair dryer that has plenty of settings and strength to try hair in a cold London winter, and sufficient mirrors which are both full length and top only. Hallelujah!

The bathrooms are brilliantly lit and again have generous mirrors and luxe body products made directly and exclusively for The Beaumont.

While the Roosevelt is the presidential suite and spans the entire fifth floor with interconnecting rooms it is Gormley’s ROOM set inside a sculpture which is the piece de resistance.

Facilities at The Beaumont Hotel: Dry and wet saunas cusped between an ice cold plunge pool

A gym that’s serviced throughout the day with fresh fruit and water is the icing on the cake. There are enough weights and cardio equipment to get anyone through a London winter. In summer the hotel is close enough to Hyde Park that a morning run is a welcome pleasure.

Dry and wet saunas cusped between an ice cold plunge pool, ice bath and relaxation room are all complimentary for in-house guests.

I wanted to move in after experiencing a concierge who went above and beyond  organising a thermos of fresh mint tea for me when I arrived back from my evening date. It truly is a joy to know this level of service and care still exists in the world.
