The Tasman launches in Hobart, Tasmania
The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel opens in Hobart
The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart is one of Hobart’s newest hotels and has unveiled some new and strikingly unusual suites including The St. David’s Park Suite. This suite features a soaring original 1840s ceiling and fireplace for a heritage inspired stay, and The Aurora Suite with the pinnacle of modern luxury, revealing panoramic views across the River Derwent from an expansive entertaining terrace.
The Tasman blends the site’s historical legacy with a modern vision. Each of the 152 rooms highlight a distinct character with original artworks from local artists, warming fireplaces and island baths. Guests also have an opportunity to experience three eras of design within the hotel; from walking the history filled hallways of the original 1840s heritage building, admiring the Art Deco building, or taking in the views of the Hobart waterfront from the glass ensconced pavilion.
The Pavilion Suites look across Hobart’s waterfront
The Pavilion Suites offer a sensory impact on arrival. The expanse of these two corner suites reflect panoramic views across Hobart’s historic waterfront to the River Derwent. Tastefully furnished with a decadent Superking bed and freestanding bath, a stay in these suites offers a truly indulgent experience.
The Tasman’s rooms and suites also include fine Italian linens from Frette’ and products from suppliers including various Australian brands such Beauty and the Bees and Grown Alchemist. An array of Tasmanian food and beverage refreshments are also included in the top suites, including Lark Distillery’s Docks Release single malt, crafted just for The Tasman, an exclusive beer collaboration with Moo Brew and Storm + India organic wellness teas.
The Tasman is steps from the Mona Ferry in Hobart
Ideally located, The Tasman is just steps from the waterfront, Mona Ferry and Salamanca Markets. Unique to Hobart, the hotel acts as an anchor for the new public domain of Parliament Square, a great ensemble of heritage buildings restored and reimagined, while presenting a striking modern architectural statement to the rising topography of Sullivan’s Cove and marking a new era in the historical fabric of the city. The hotel’s heritage corridors take guests on a historical journey dating back almost one hundred and fifty years. Featuring vaulted doors and original sandstone walls adorned with pieces from local artists that transform these old halls into an art gallery experience.
