Iceland is a country of extremes. With active volcanoes, lava fields, geysers, and glaciers making up the dramatic landscape of this Nordic country, fun is bound to be had for those who seek adventure.

Where to stay in Iceland
Iceland’s first and only five-star accommodation, Diamond Suites Boutique Hotel, resides above the already renowned Hotel Keflavik. It exudes impeccable service and attention to detail make saying there an absolute dream. Luxury and adventure are on offer for guests staying at Diamond Suites.
The suites themselves are split into five uniquely designed en suite bedrooms each with a gemstone inspired name. The interior of each suite varies from old world sophistication to contemporary elegance to Nordic luxury, and can be chosen by guests based on personal style and taste. All en suites are fitted with rain shower heads, whirlpool bathtubs* and Philippe Starck designed faucets. For those who aren’t familiar, Philippe Starck is a celebrated French designer renowned for his interior and architectural design.
Which Room?
The Ruby Suite is the 500-square foot master suite designed with a hand-carved single wood headboard as its centre piece and Versace marble tiles in the en-suite bathroom.
The Sapphire Suite is an elegantly designed modern room, with a private outdoor Jacuzzi offering a spectacular view of the Aurora Borealis in winter.
The Emerald Suite is the library suite which features wooden panels on the walls with Mackenzie Childs wallpaper and lighting design, aimed to create a warm and inviting environment.

The Topaz Suite is a mixture of contemporary furniture and Icelandic artwork, making it the most modern design of all the suites.
The Pearl Suite contains the most extravagant piece of furniture across all suites; a white-leather king sized bed embellished with Swarovski crystals and framed by Versace marble columns.
When all the rooms sound that good, how do you choose just one? That almost impossible task comes two easy answers. The first, to choose the Jon Williams Suite, named after the hotel’s late founder, which is a combination of The Ruby and The Sapphire Suite. Or second, and this is the option I would be going for, opt for the most exclusive package and have them all!
The entire Diamond Suites Hotel can (and should!) be booked as a single penthouse suite. The site as the penthouse suite includes: living room, dining area, private balcony and two Jacuzzi’s with up to five en-suite bedrooms. The option to turn one or more of the five en-suite rooms into a personal gym, an office and, and, if given enough notice, a private cinema, is available when booking. A personal driver and range rover will be on hand at all times for those booking this exclusive package. The potential of a private chef and personal trainer can also be discussed when booking.

Adventure time at Diamond Suites Boutique Hotel
Through Diamond Suites, guests have access to snowmobiles where they can sit atop a glacier and take in the glorious views, a private land rover and driver to take you anywhere you desire and private helicopter tours of mountains, rivers and geothermal areas across the country.
Exploring the hot springs, caves and black sand beaches in the Reykjanes Peninsula is easy with Diamond Suites only a 15 to 20-minute drive away.
Be sure to soak in the warm geothermal salt waters of the Blue Lagoon, a natural spa rich in minerals, that resides inside a lava field. And don’t forget to have an in-water massage!
The Golden Circle cannot be missed. It’s hot springs and waterfalls are known to draw a crowd so be sure to discuss the best time to go with the hotel travel concierge to have a more private experience. Thanks to Icelandic mountaineers paving the way, snowmobiling on Langjokull glacier has been made possible and is an absolute must!
When it comes to ‘bucket list’ experiences, the Aurora Borealis is certainly on most people’s list. If you want to cross that off then the best time to experience this jaw dropping visual display of nature is between October and April. A clear night and subzero temperatures are needed so be sure to spend a few nights to enhance your opportunity of seeing the Aurora Borealis in its glory. The opportunity to do this from the retractable glass enclosed outdoor Jacuzzi area at Diamond Suites Boutique Hotel is an option, as is organising a private tour tailored to your specific wants and needs.
