Foxtel Announces New Season of Luxury Escapes: The World’s Best Holidays
So just when you thought your couch couldn’t possibly look any drabber, along comes Foxtel with the official trailer for Luxury Escapes: The World’s Best Holidays, premiering Thursday 11 September. And before you ask, yes, episodes will be dropping weekly because delayed gratification is still a thing in 2025.
From Maldives to Vegas
This season, prepare yourself for another madcap round-the-world jaunt to destinations that look like they’ve been Photoshopped within an inch of their lives. Think the Maldives (where the water is so clear you’ll want to drink it, though don’t, because digestion), the neon chaos of Hong Kong, the sensory overload of Vegas, and Iceland, which, I can confirm, is not just one giant freezer aisle but also rather stunning. Add Bali, Fiji, Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand, and even our own NSW and Victoria, and you’ve got a passport having a nervous breakdown.
Who doesn’t love Cameron Daddo?
Of course, it wouldn’t be Luxury Escapes without the cast of friendly Australian personalities who pop up in these glossy travel montages looking like they’ve never had a dodgy airport transfer in their lives. This time you’ve got Cameron Daddo, Rebecca Gibney, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Miguel Maestre, Jane Hall, Pia Miranda, Mike Reid, and Hannah Hollis, plus new additions Khanh Ong and Matt Le Nevez because what is travel television if not a rolling game of Celebrity Bingo?
According to Wendy Moore, Foxtel Group’s Executive Director of Entertainment Content (and therefore, one presumes, in possession of very chic luggage), audiences can’t get enough of this show. She says it’s the ultimate “feel-good viewing.” And she’s not wrong, there’s something oddly soothing about watching other people glide through airports without losing their passport or being charged $48 for a coffee.
The series, produced by Foxtel and i8 Studios, is essentially the televisual version of scrolling Instagram when your mate is on their fifteenth European holiday, only here you don’t have to mutter rude things about them under your breath.
