Power for the campsite comes from a “solar farm” which consists of more than 150 solar panels ensuring sufficient electricity. The UV filtration system in place for the water supply helps to eliminate the use of disposable plastic bottles. With all of these procedures in place, along with the complete freedom of the local wildlife, Zarafa is the perfect luxury safari for eco warriors and curious souls.
The campsite is intimate, with only four tents… well, four VERY large tents. Underneath the canvas canopy, each tent has a generous living space, a gas fireplace for the cooler months, a bathroom with both an indoor shower and copper claw-foot bath, a large bedroom and even a full bar equipped with all your boozey favourites. Outside, guests can have a dip in a private plunge pool or even live life on the edge and shower outdoors with epic views of the Botswanian wilderness. The campsite common areas offer guests access to a main lounge, a library and a dining deck.
4×4 safari vehicle
Guests can take a wild safari adventure in a 4×4 safari vehicle, go on a guided walk, enjoy a private wine tasting or relax with a massage, all in the most picturesque location in Botswana. From camp, hippos can be seen in the Lagoon, rare birds come and go and elephants wander so close sometime you have to wait for them to move before leaving your tent. Guests are supplied with a pair of Swarovski binoculars to do their wilderness watching. And if the binoculars aren’t enough, every room comes with a professional quality loaner kit, including a Canon 5D camera and the highest quality 28-135mm and 100-400mm lenses.
