Eat

Berlin is heaven for vegans. With everything from vegan burgers under the train tracks, to vegan fine dining, Berlin offers conscious travellers and locals a vast array of delicious eats.

Kopps – Vegan dining at every meal

Kopps is Berlin’s answer to vegan dining at every meal, serving up healthy, beautifully plated dishes for brunch, lunch and dinner. This elegant eatery is found in the heart of the central Mitte district. If you love brunch, head to Kopps on Saturdays and Sundays for a generous buffet brunch. And if meeting new people is up your alley, Kopps offer a three-course ‘Come Together’ vegan dinner every Tuesday.

Lucky Leek – Award-winning chef Josita Hartanto

Vegans with a taste for the finer things will have their senses indulged at Lucky Leek. Award-winning chef Josita Hartanto creates stunning plant-based dishes for the restaurant’s seasonal menus. Restaurant-goers can choose from à la carte and a set three- or five-course menu. And if you’re tired of the basic tofu substitute, you’ll be in for a treat at Luck Leek, where the vegetables steal the show.

Brammibal’s Donuts – The best donut shop in the biz

Technically not a fine dining restaurant. But who doesn’t love donuts? Brammibal’s Donuts isn’t your everyday donut shop. It’s the best donut shop in the biz. Better yet, it’s vegan. They offer six classic donuts as well as a range of seasonal flavours that rotate year-round. When packing your suitcase for Berlin, throw in a lunch box. With flavours like red wine pear, raspberry pistachio and maple smoked coconut you’ll definitely want to take some home.

Drink

Berlin and nightlife go hand in hand. With countless legendary bars and to choose from, you’re spoilt for choice in Berlin.

Buck and Breck – Tough to find!

It’s easy to find a bar in Berlin, but it’s not easy to find a bar as exceptional as Buck and Breck in Berlin. And they certainly don’t make it easy to find. With a constantly changing façade, a website with little information, and barely any contact details, Buck and Breck is as elusive as it is exclusive. The bar is hidden behind a secret door between a police station and Doris Bistro in the rooms of a former shop on Brunnenstrasse, opposite Weinsbergpark in Mitte. When you’ve finally found the bar, you’ll need to ring a doorbell. Once inside, the bartenders take over. Only 14 people can be in the Buck and Breck at a time.

Bar Tausend – One of Berlin’s best high-end bars

Blink and you might miss one of Berlin’s best high-end bars. Hiding in plain sight, Bar Tausend is tucked beneath the train tracks at Bahnhof Friedrichstraße. When you’re under the train tracks, you’ll see a pair of eyes painted on the wall. Head toward the left eye, ring the doorbell and enter Bar Tausend for a night of cocktails and music. Bar Tausend has a consistently high quality line up of bands, DJs and artists. The busier it is, the more selective the door policy gets. Be cool.

China Club Berlin – Member’s only private club

East meets West at China Club Berlin. This member’s only private club is located next to Hotel Adlon Kempinski with views over Brandenburg Gate on one side and over the Holocaust Memorial on the other. China Club Berlin is one of the most exclusive clubs in Germany. Discerning and selected members from business, society, culture and politics will meet at Chine Club Berlin indulging in the luxury and ambiance. The bar is inspired by the legendary Peace Bar in Shanghai and styled with red satin walls, polished mahogany and post-Maoist Red Guards in oil. There is no better place to sit with a cocktail or aperitif… except perhaps the rooftop terrace or the library.
